Better Air Bear at Mall of Georgia, November 23rd
Environment

Can’t wait until Black Friday? We know you want to get out and shop. The folks at The Clean Ari Campaign will give you a reason. The Better Air Bear (BAIR) will be walking around the Mall of Georgia tomorrow, November 23rd from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm offering advice on how to navigate holiday traffic and giving alternate commute suggestions for Black Friday shoppers.

This year, Black Friday in Georgia is in for a surprise because The Clean Air Campaign is turning it blue.  This particular shade of blue denotes clean air and clear skies.

Since Santa’s sleigh isn’t available, some of the busiest shopping hubs in metro Atlanta offer free transit services to car-free commuters and shoppers.

  • Around Buckhead, “the buc” can take you to all major destinations.  Visit BucRide.com for information.
  • Atlantic Station shoppers get a Free Ride between the Arts Center MARTA station and Atlantic Station every 15-20 minutes, seven days a week.

The Clean Air campaign is encouraging all to:

  • Carpool. Spread the holiday cheer by sharing the ride to work, to the mall and to holiday parties.
  • Telework. Stop wasting gas.  Research gift ideas from home and find the best deal while your car sits in the driveway.
  • Try Transit. Let someone else drive to reduce stress during this hectic time. Give MARTA, Xpress or one of the local shuttles a try.
  • Bike.  Grab a scarf to stay warm and pedal to work and run errands.

The Clean Air Campaign pays drive-alone commuters $3 a day, up to $100 over three months to make the change, earn money while saving the environment.
