ATDC coming to UGA Gwinnett campus

Atlanta, GA (Atlanta Business Chronicle) --The Georgia Tech-based Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) will branch out to a new facility at The University of Georgia-Gwinnett Campus.

Started in 1980, ATDC has become a start-up engine for economic and business development in Georgia. The new Gwinnett location will bring more technology-based economic development to Gwinnett and provide educational programming and consulting for existing and potential entrepreneurs outside the ATDC’s existing Midtown location.

Gwinnett Tech Foundation Receives Grant for Life Sciences Center

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – The David, Helen, and Marian Woodward Fund has gifted the Gwinnett Tech Foundation with a $15,000 grant to support the Foundation's Legacy of Lives capital campaign for Gwinnett Technical College’s new Life Sciences Center.

The Legacy of Lives campaign supports the education and training of healthcare professionals for the area through the construction of the Gwinnett Technical College Life Sciences Center and expansion of GTC’s existing healthcare and life sciences program offerings.  When complete in the fall of 2011, the three-story, 14,000-square-foot center will serve 3,000 students. Currently, nearly 43 percent of GTC students are enrolled in one of the college’s health science programs.

Gwinnett County TOTY Finalists

Recently, the Gwinnett County School System announced the names of the 25 semifinalists for the 2011 Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year (TOTY) honor. The group of 15 elementary, 5 middle, and 5 high school teachers was selected from an initial list of 123 local school Teachers of the Year who were nominated by their colleagues at their local schools.
