Bank robber's note wishes 'Merry Christmas'

BUFORD, Ga. -- Police say a bank robber apparently touched with a little of the holiday spirit has been arrested.

According to Gwinnett County Police, the robbery happened around 12:30 p.m. Monday at the BB&T Bank located at 4394 Buford Drive. The suspect gave a teller a note demanding cash. At the bottom of the note, the suspect wrote "Merry Christmas."

 

The suspect left after obtaining a "small amount" of cash, police said. 

After police released his photos, the suspect apparently heard about his case on the radio. Police the man, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Henry Harbin, approached a woman in Atlanta and told her to call police about his involvement in the robbery. Police were notified and took custody of Harbin. He's been charged with one count of robbery and transported to Gwinnett County Jail.
