GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Brush fires shut down I-85 in Gwinnett County for several hours Wednesday afternoon.

Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said his office received reports of several fires near I-85 south between Old Winder Highway and Spout Springs Road -- a six to seven mile stretch of the interstate.

All lanes of I-85 south were shut down between Mile Marker 123 and Old Winder Highway so crews can battle the fires. The Georgia State Patrol was working traffic control in the area, Rutledge said. Some delays were 90 minutes long. Gwinnett County fire was assisted by Barrow County to bring the fires under control.

No one has been hurt in the fires. The cause is still under investigation.
