Drought closes ramps on Lake Lanier
BUFORD, Ga -- 24 boat ramp lanes are now closed at Lake Lanier.
The reason, the drought conditions. If levels remain low more will have to close.
11Alive spoke with people at the lake who say the low water levels are of concern because their boats may hit debris and cause damage.
Others feel it could affect the value of the homes on Lake Lanier.
The Army Corp of Engineers monitors the levels and ramp conditions.
Most of the ramps closed are in the northern part of the lake, which means more traffic at the southern end.
