Apartment building full of bats reopens
BUFORD, Ga. -- Authorities say 14 people who were displaced when health officials closed a Gwinnett County apartment building due to bats have been cleared to return home.
Health officials closed the Buford apartment building after bats were discovered in the attic of the complex and in several units.
Gwinnett County Public Health spokeswoman Karen Shields said the American Red Cross and county and state officials assisted the families after the apartment building was shut down.
Authorities said the families were allowed to return to the building Monday afternoon.
