About Us
As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.
What Is Kumon?
Kumon is the world’s largest after-school math and reading enrichment program. Kumon unlocks the potential of children so they can achieve more on their own. It allows students of all ages and abilities to build the skills necessary to have a richer, more successful educational experience. We give children the tools to unlock their true potential. To succeed in the classroom and beyond. To love to learn. And the motivation to learn on their own. By helping to build self-confidence, Kumon leaves children feeling empowered with the desire to achieve more.

Upon completion of my high school studies in Singapore, I felt the need to venture beyond my comfort zone, so I decided to enroll with Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia. I spent 6 years at Curtin and completed 3 separate degrees: Bachelor of Arts (Social Science), Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology and Master of Organizational Psychology. I remained for 2 more years in Perth, working on several
concurrent projects with different organizations before returning to Singapore in 1995.
I have accumulated over 18 years of working experience, mostly in the fields of Human Resource, Training and Development, and in Consulting. I worked in this capacity at various companies including the Department of Transportation, Cannington Taxation Office, BDO Nelson-Parkhil, Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, STMicroelectronics, 3D Performance, Mindinsync Consulting, Lanforce Consulting Group, and Infashion Menswear.
My teaching experience started back in Singapore when I was a tutor to my neighbors’ children before going off to college. Subsequently in Perth, I became a part-time tutor in the Psychology program, followed with 2 years of lecturing & tutoring for the Psychology faculty at the Singapore Institute of Management’s Open University (UK-Affiliated). When I moved to Atlanta, I continued my teaching capacity as a substitute teacher at Oak Meadow Montessori School and of course, being a full-time mom (and educator) to Yash. I have had tremendous opportunities over these 18 years, to work with, interact and learn from diverse cultures across Asia, Oceania, Europe and America. I have recently completed a rigorous 10-month long instructor training program with Kumon and am eager to impart the skills and knowledge in my own Kumon Center and with my own students.
